1.0 This Privacy Policy

1.1 Best Direct is a TV Shopping Chanel that provides a 24hr broadcasting service to bring various products of interest to the attention of our customers and potential customers. We are a registered company Registration Number 4771803 12 Station Court, Station Approach, Wickford, Essex, SS11 7AT, we own and host the website/s www.bestdirect.co.uk, www.bestdirect.tv and www.bdpress.co.uk.

1.2 This website is designed to be used by our customers who provide Best Direct with their personal information if they choose to purchase from us. We are committed to protecting personal data. Please read this privacy policy carefully as it contains important information about our use of your information. It explains what information we collect about you, and how we use it, including when we might disclose it to third parties.

1.3 Our products and services are not designed to appeal to or to be sold to persons under the age of 18. Therefore, we do not knowingly attempt to solicit or receive any information from children.




2.0 What information does Best Direct collect?

2.1 So that you can benefit from our services you will have chosen to make a purchase of a product that you have seen on our shopping channel, on our website or in a publication ie: newspaper or magazine and; as part of the purchase process you will be asked to provide Best Direct with your personal information including your full name, your residential address or other delivery address, your billing address, telephone number, email address and a credit or debit card to collect payment for the goods you wish to purchase.

2.2 Your information is submitted in 3 ways 1) using our website www.bestdirect.co.uk, www.bdpress.co.uk and www.bestdirect.tv to purchase a product, 2) by calling our call centre to purchase a product or, 3) by sending in a completed form to purchase a product. We will process your information on the basis that you have made a purchase and to provide you with the service to supply you with the product you have ordered. After you have received you order we will only contact you in the future where you have given us your explicit consent to contact you. Where you have given consent we will send you regular newsletters and details about products offers.

2.3 If you have given your consent to be contacted and decide that you no longer wish to be contacted by Best Direct you can opt-out at any time by using an unsubscribe link or emailing us to [email protected]. There will always be a link in any information that we send you by email. If we call you with details of offers, you can advise the call handler that you wish to opt-out and state that you do not wish to be called again. 2.4 For the avoidance of doubt we do not process sensitive personal data as defined by the GDPR as data consisting of racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, biometric data, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person's sex life or sexual orientation.




3.0 How does Best Direct uses your Information

3.1 We process the data you provide when you order a product from us in compliance with Article 6 1 b) of the GDPR which states that data can be processed in relation to a contract or when someone is thinking about entering into a contract. Where you are not in contract with us to purchase an item the legal basis for us to process your data is ‘consent’ Art 6 1 a). There may be other legitimate reasons that make it legal for us to process your data. A list is provided at the end of this privacy policy.

3.2 Once you have contacted us to make your purchase by telephone, post or through our website we will process your data to supply the product/s you have ordered, to deal with any follow up queries we may have to ensure your order is completed and to plan delivery. Once your product/s have been delivered to you we may contact you at other times but only in accordance with your specific consent.

3.3 When you use our website you will be able to access this privacy policy and our terms and conditions which can be found in the footer area of our website.

3.4 We may use the information collected to personalise your experience on our website, to help you to log-in in future and to continue to use the website. Details of how we do this are included in the cookie section 9.0.

3.5 When you submit your order using our web-form you will have been advised to read this Privacy Policy by way of a link. We include opt-in tick boxes for you to agree to be contacted, if you choose not to opt-in, we will not use your data other than to assist you with your order, manage delivery of your order and deal with any queries, complaints or return of goods.

3.6 When you save item(s) in your “virtual shopping cart” on our website but leave it without completing the order, the personal data that you supply us with, will be solely processed with the intention to offer you a “reminder” service. Within the following 7 days you will receive 3 communications to your email address which will allow you, should you choose to, complete the “checkout” process that was initially started. If you decide that you no longer wish to receive the reminders, you can opt-out at any time by using an unsubscribe link. There will always be a link in any information that we send you by email.

3.7 We may also use your information to stop the sign up of an account where we suspect an account may be used for fraud reasons, this is subject to an automated decision but does not have any legal effect on a data subject.




4.0 How long we keep your information

4.1 When you submit your information to place your order your data will be retained for up to 6 years so that we can manage and audit our business however your data will be minimised or anonymised to protect you. If you submit your information and decide to cancel your order your data will only be retain your data with your consent as detailed at 2.3 and 2.4 above. The information we use to send you email reminders of the abandoned cart will be stored during 7 days following the interruption of the ordering session, unless you decide to opt out before the end of that period.

4.2 If you have created an online account and do not subsequently log-in within 6 months and where you have not provided consent to contact you by newsletter or about offers, the personal data within your account will be minimised until you reactivate the account by logging in. Where you do log back in after 6 months you will be directed to your preferences to ensure your consents are up to date. However; where an account has been dormant for 24 months we will delete your account and the personal information within the account.




5.0 Sharing information with Third Parties

5.1 We will only disclose your personal information to third parties if needed to provide our services, this includes our call centre provider and our warehouse service provider. Where we do use a third party who is given access to your data every care is taken to make enquiry to satisfy ourselves that they comply with GDPR. We carry out due diligence checks to ensure that their services are compliant and secure.

5.2 From time to time we may use other third-party suppliers and service providers. Where any service provider collects information directly from you (such as the situation where we ask a service provider to conduct a survey for us) you will be notified of the involvement of the supplier or service provider, and all information disclosures you make will be strictly optional.

5.3 We also use third party hosting partners to provide the necessary equipment to maintain your data securely, administer and develop our website ranking. We use a third-party supplier to send you abandoned cart reminders. We will only give those third parties limited information needed for that purpose and subject to those third parties agreeing to keep the information secure. The third parties are: Google Analytics, MailChimp, Claranet Hosting, Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, etc..), and payment gateways (PayPal, Sage Pay).

5.4 In addition, we may provide aggregate statistics about our customers; sales, traffic patterns and related website information to reputable third-parties, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information.

In order to do so, we have added Facebook’s Pixel code snippet to the source code of our webpage which establishes a link to Facebook’s servers, telling Facebook that you have visited our webpage. Facebook adds this information to your FB account. The collected data remains anonymous and Best Direct cannot see the personal data of any individual user.
